Spline Broches Tool

Spline Broches Tool

Spline broaches are internal hole machining tools made of high-speed steel or carbide, often with a hard coating on the surface to enhance wear resistance. The tool is widely used in automotive transmissions, aerospace parts and other fields by layer by layer cutting involute, triangle or rectangular spline, and has the characteristics of high machining accuracy (up to IT7 level) and low surface roughness (Ra0.4μm). Modern products generally adopt combined structure design, combined with five-axis CNC machining and variable groove width technology, to achieve precise modification processing of quenched parts.

Advantages of involute splines

Involute splines are becoming more and more widely used. This is due to the fact that involute splines have many advantages over rectangular splines, such as a large number of teeth, tooth ends, thick tooth roots, strong bearing capacity, easy automatic centering, and high installation accuracy. The large spline diameter under the same dimension is conducive to increasing the stiffness of the shaft. The involute spline is convenient to use cold rubbing, cold beating, cold extrusion and other chip-free processing methods, with high production efficiency, high precision, and material saving.

Involute spline parameters

The basic parameters of an involute spline include specification, modulus, number of teeth, pressure angle, and displacement coefficient (nominal value).
centering
The centering method between the spline hole and the spline shaft refers to the part where the clearance is set to the smallest in the diameter direction. Including tooth surface positioning, large diameter positioning, and small diameter positioning.
Amount of combination
The fit amount is the interference or clearance state of the specified center part, including clearance, intermediate fit, and interference.
