Slotting machine is a metal cutting machine used to create slot-like features. During machining, the workpiece on the worktable moves vertically, horizontally, or rotationally, while the slotting cutter reciprocates up and down to cut the workpiece. This is also true for linear motion machines that utilize the vertical reciprocating motion of the slotting cutter to slot keyways and holes.
